There are a lot of good websites involving scholarships, but the best one to start with is the Student Aid provided by the government.

There are different types of scholarships, but the main ones are merit-based and financial need. Merit-based scholarships are earned by meeting or exceeding certain standards set by the scholarship-provider. So things like academic achievement, special talent, traits, interest, etc.

Financial need is if you or your family have low income and need help. This can be earned by filling out the FAFSA, or the Free Application For Federal Student Aid.

ALWAYS look at the colleges you are considering and see if there are any scholarships there.

You will be surprised. Also – just apply. The worst that can happen is they reject it, but you never know when and why they might accept.

You will be compared to the application pool at that time so your chances can always be high!
